They hire the lowest tier people to work in this office. It’s been this bad for over 20 years. No matter when you call day or time you will sit on hold and almost never get someone to help.

The art department is wonderful. I took a few other classes such as science, math, English etc and I feel every department is great, especially for the price.
Financial aid department isn’t always the most friendly but you will get everything sorted and get your answers. I also recommend talking with different advisors, they aren’t all knowledgeable on what’s required but there are documents online that outline each degree.

If you wanna be treated like a middle schooler with the added bonus of paying with your own money for classes with some high school drama as a cherry on top, this is the place for you! No library, no cafeteria, revolving door staffing, and disrespectful admin but still somehow full price tuition. Beats me how they have as many good reviews as they do.

I highly recommend Saint Louis community College as a starting point for any student …..I highly recommend Dr. Keith Ware African American History courses as he also teaches at Washington University…….and practicing Attorney and Professor Barbara Wiseheart in legal studies is awesome as well …..both are witty and engaging…and make learning the materials interesting….and fun …..

Not so sure about the advisors and financial office- had an attitude with me but still helped me enroll for the class I wanted. Been taking classes here on and off over the last 25 years. Every class I took has been very good, and even surpassed the excellent teaching instruction I received from SLU in math and art.

I'm wrapping up my associates soon. Meramec is a pretty good college. Advisors are ok, very hit and miss but my advisor was great. Admissions people were not as great. Financial aid is good. Professors are 80% good and 20% bad. The bad ones are REALLY bad and drag down your experience here. Use "rate my professor" or talk to other students to find the good professors. I had a class with a professor that told us he hated his job and we could tell because that class was hell. I doubt many universities are any better because every place has at least a few bad professors. Do your research, advocate for yourself, sign up for good courses, and you will do great and save a ton of money.

Great college but they should fire professor Hamilton. I and some of my friends had her for college composition 1 and she was really awful to one of my friends. My friend had surgery, as well as a potentially life threatening complication and Angela Hamilton didn’t let her make up for it (she originally said she would but later said that she wouldn’t, that my friend couldn’t submit something late even though she had a technical difficulty, other dumb stuff like that). Additionally, Hamilton came to school with covid. She had first tested positive about a week before, and had gotten an additional positive test a day or two prior to when she showed up to class maskless and visibly sick. Other than Hamilton, STLCC is a great college and I definitely recommend it! I’ve met a lot of great people and had a lot of great professors 🙂
