It's okay. It's a school you go to just to get to your 4 year. They DONT have any microwave on campus to "encourage" you to buy the food here

The school campus is great.
Clean and comfortable.
It's easy to find places to have privacy as it's a large campus.
The buildings feel structurally competent.
The staff is generally helpful.
Spending plenty of time on this campus brings a peaceful feeling.

Visited the Performing Art Center for a quick tour and to see the chairs I “donated” 15 years ago. I performed several times there with the IVC Wind Symphony but never went to the seating section.

I love this school and the teachers and faculty are amazing. With that being said, I do have to complain that everything feels disconnected here. You will be told different information based on who you ask. When asking about who is in charge of different programs you will be met with "I don't know" very frequently. As a student, finding out the rules and procedures that you need to follow is very difficult. The rules and procedures are spread across multiple sources. And require that you dedicate significant time to piecing everything together to actually understand them.

The majority of the faculty is caring and kind and wants the best for the students, but there are also a few individuals who I believe are very unhealthy. And abuse their power and position. I don't want to let a few bad eggs spoil the bunch, but it did have a significantly negative impact on my experience here.

With all that being said — I am not sure if I would recommend this school to everyone.

This community college is a gold mine!
Initially, I took a course to brush up on algebra to help the grandsons with homework. Thereafter, when I chose to set a good example and was earning my Summa Cum Laude Undergrad degree at UCR; this school was a Godsend!
It is SO MUCH CHEAPER! It runs on a Semester system so you have longer to absorb the material. It was infinitely easier to take a foreign language at this level and, I repeat, much more economical and five feet from my house.
The campus is beautiful, well thought out landscaping, a decent cafeteria, well run bookstore and (with all schools) not enough parking. LOL.
The administration is stellar. Great support system. Also, use your Professor’s office hours because it’s free tutoring!
Highly recommend using this quality school as an affordable stepping stone to transfer to four year university! IGETC is key to any transfer student.

Nice compact campus tucked between strawberry fields and tree-lined neighborhoods. It's conveniently located between I-5 and the 405 just off of Jeffrey and Irvine Center.
