Run. Do not go to this school. Save yourself the money and all the bad grades you’ll wrongfully receive. The teachers are as ancient as the facilities and just as comprehensible. I have followed all the steps for reporting a professor and after 6 months of following up they finally gave me a meeting invite without a breifing email or context. Educationally you’ll get subpar information and will be taught by dinasours that are rude and discriminatory to many. Just trust me, RUN

The Hospitality Atrium and the Chef’s House hosted a World Tapas Festival tonight with 8 chefs. Brilliantly organized, delicious food, a perfect evening. Can’t wait for other awesome events! Superb, well done George Brown College!

Came across the graduating class Dessert Holiday Market today and it was such a pleasant experience. We bought the Turkish chocolate box, Brazilian cookie tray and Italian cookie tray. They’re all amazing. The Italian cookie tray is outstanding. I congratulated that team on the spot but I would like to congratulate them again here. The detailed labels they put on the box was a nice touch.

The students were all very friendly and informative. We had a chance to chat with them and try some delicious samples at several booths including Brazil, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Portugal, Caribbean, India, Japan, China and Belgium.

The event was well organized, there was no chaos and it was maintained in an orderly fashion.

Great college to learn hospitality industry. Teachers and course contents are great and education level is high. You will get a great job after your graduation. However, GBC itself doesn't have a good management system to take care students. The insurance system when you call to the certain phone number is horrible. Also, staff at the office level and reception are not friendly. However, their students are mostly great and their volunteer people were very nice and tried to help each visitors. If you learn hospitality programs in this college, this is the best option in Ontario. Therefore, I hope the management system can improve.

I came to GBC as an International Student and I have not had any regrets so far. The professors are truly exceptional with a keen interest in student well being and success, I only wish I could call names. Hands down, its a great place for newcomers.

I attended a Baking and Pastry Arts program here.
I had a few good teachers, and several teachers whose teaching was utterly disgusting. I was discriminated against, some chefs refused to answer questions about course content, confidentiality was not respected to the point that I was advised to sue George Brown, and through all of it, the associate dean and dean of the program - Lorraine Trotter in particular - did nothing except viciously accuse me of bizarre things to cloud the issue. I strongly recommend against any classes from Julie Phillip, who is a subpar chef, an incompetent and unhelpful teacher, and a nasty person.

Timothy Simpson, Allison Fryer, and Amede Lamarche, along with a few others, were exceptions, as they were superb instructors whom I highly recommend.

TL;DR - Don't ever go to George Brown for anything related to culinary skills or baking. The school will treat you like garbage, then might slander you, breach agreements, fail to teach you basic skills, and fight viciously to deny you your rights.
