Still remember when I had to drop a course after the first class, due to an emergency unforseen situation. I went to my PACT counselor and filled out paperwork to drop the course. I checked a week later on the portal and it said I was still enrolled. So I checked in with my counselor again who ensured that it was in the process of being removed and that it took some time. I trusted her to do the job while I was dealing at home with an emergency situation.

I get my transcript and see a FW as a grade for the course. This meant I was never withdrawn and an F was averaged into my GPA for that semester. Because of that my GPA dropped below a 2.5 even though I received As in all other courses. That was unfair and significantly impacted my overall GPA at graduation. The school said they could do nothing about it.

I still graduated in 2017 with a 3.7 GPA but had yet to hold a job over $17 an hour over 4 years later. After graduation I tried to contact the school to ask for help and job resources and network opportunities. They told me to use the job networking website they offer students but there were literally 0 options for careers in my field of study after months of using the portal I contacted the school again for more opportunities and was told "we don't know how else to help you, sorry".

I ended up going back to a CUNY for my Master's but I really wish Mercy did more for their students. I'm left with 40k in debt and barley any way to pay it back. I feel terrible

Graduated from here and my experience was good for the first year then it was downhill after. Few good professors but the majority are kinda lost in their way of modern tech and events. The whole administration doesn't know how to handle degree requirements and keep track of students who have scholarships and have proof of it and forgetting to not over bill students...

Mercy is a University like DeVry or UofPhoenix are Universities.

Horrible instructors, Horrible administration that DISCRIMINATES against students with disabilities, ESPECIALLY the Provost's Office.

If you want to be belittled, told your disability "isnt real" and taken advantage of by unscrupulous capitalists and be surrounded in your courses by dumb guidos (Im Italian, lay off me), than Mercy is the "University" for you 😉

The worst financial aid department with the worst staff ever. Literally any college is better than this place. Every college I seen runs more efficiently and more helpfully than their departments.

To me Mercy college was the worst experience, it made me never want to come back to NYC. The tuition cost is definitely not worth it. The food quality was bad and poorly prepared, also found hairs in my food frequently. The workers at the canteen tried mostly to make me and every one else to overpay, and deny including certain things that were supposed to be included in your meal, according to the meal plan. The education level.. mostly I learned by my own initiative, not from the professors and homework. For example, my Software teacher did not appear for our first class, since she did not know how to use Zoom. The dorms did not impress either, I understand they saved money there even in Manhattan, where it was supposed to be new. The last and the biggest headache was to just withdraw from the study. The administration was messy, unhelpful and unprofessional in this case. I had to BARGAIN for the price of just leaving, right before the semester started. The price seemed like depends on who it concerned. My friend who had contacts didn't need to pay at all, and someone else paid less than me. The first price I got was crazy stupefying, then after ALOT of arguments from my side, and a lot of avoiding me with no response, and mostly late and unhelpful responses, it got down, significantly.
I'm just happy this nightmare is over.
list of disappointments could continue...

Got my bachelors degree in business/finance here.

Here’s the thing, this college is SUPER easy. Like, easier than any school I ever was in. By a long shot. Everyone passes by doing the bare minimum. If you even pretend to care you’ll do great.

The downside is there is no social element to the school. Never really made friends, no girls that are flirty or fun to get to know, no guys to hang with after classes or down to go out on the weekends. You will basically have no social life here lol. ‍♂️
