I am so disappointed with my experience at the school. I was what's the filled with anticipation and excitement for my kids to have the opportunity to attend Kipp. Unfortunately since day one it is been a nightmare. The teachers are unprofessional and rude. The principles and other staff as well. I have twin fifth graders at the school will take the same classes but have different homework. The weekly progress reports that were promised were inconsistent. But most the portly a worst of all my daughter has been bullied. She notified several teachers and the principal to no avail. I had a conversation one-on-one with the principal and was told my complaint will only be respected if put in writing. Imagine my shock to know that my daughter was being physically and verbally abused and the teachers could care less.

Let me tell u from a student perspective. I went there from 6 to 8 and I graduated last month. The pros of the school is that there are some nice staffs and there are some staffs that u will love like the p.e teacher I like her and the 8th grade math teacher is nice. The cons of this school is that the place where we play is a parking lot an that the the hallways are small so for when we transition to class it’s like we are all squished together In one small hallway and there are two grade levels for each floor so imagine all of us trying to transition to class with a lot of kids and with hardly any staff. Another thing is that the principal last year was horrible but this year principal is a really good principal he cares about the student unlike the principal before.

I don't know about the school but their crossing guards don't know how to do their job. Traffic is always built up right there. They need to learn how to work a system with letting cars go by. They literally will back up traffic and cause congestion just to let 1 kid cross the street. Also to parents need to stop taking up the entire 1st lane to park and wait for their kids. They need to make another way to let these kids in & out the school. Use 84th place. Traffic was backed up all the way to 88th Street.

Great School!!! My son was apart of KEA from Kinder to 4th and I loved every moment. Really great teachers and staff. Even if there was an issue I never felt that my child's feelings or opinion didnt matter. I highly recommend

Yesterday was a terrible day for me. A kid from my grade bullied me he called me short since 5th grade u was bullied and no one did anything my mother helped and get my self confidence and has told me that the most important thing is what’s in your head not how you look in this occasion I didn’t stay quite I answered back Ms.Watts heard what he told me and what I told him and when I told him she told me come and told me to sit down in front of 6 other people I quote “You know better than this” she said I answered “he called me short” she answered “YOU ARE SHORT”.

Everyone as differs anyone that sees something different from you gets to laugh at you any time and I have to stay quite and accept it!! That’s what Ms.Watts thinks

My mother told me this is my last year here. There is some good teachers but I will leave as soon as I can

And now I wish I can put 0 ZERO stars on this

No joke! This isn't just a student hating on the school I am a 7th grader. Not only is the location bad but you have kindergarteners seeing prostitutes on the corner. 99% of the students curse but the teachers curse as well. This school overall is horrible and you can fond a way better school for your child than this.

Great School! I'm so glad my Son has this opportunity. I can't say enough good things about it. My Son didn't want to leave his friends at his previous school last Sept but now he hates it when he sick and has to miss a day at KIPP. My Son has a IEP and wasn't doing grade level work at his previous school. My Son still has his IEP. However.. he's stayed on the top 10 "Earners" out of 5th grade class since Septembe!. He's doing grade level work and he loves school. I often ask my Son if he had a choice would he go back to the old school he says 'No! now I don't have to feel stupid" I had no idea he felt that way at the other school. But I'm glad he's no longer feeling like that and he's excited about going to school even with the longer school hours. I have every Teacher's cell number and email address. I can call his Teacher up to 8PM at night to ask questions if needed regarding home work. Everything I've requested from them regarding my Son's IEP they've provided with no problems, no delays! I just can't say enough good things about this school. After school care , enrichment classes acting, dancing etc, study hall to help with home work during school hours & a home work after school class at no addational cost! & much more!

I love KAO. From the first day of 6th grade, I've felt like me and my kid are part of "a team and a family" as they say at KIPP. The school has been so good about helping my daughter learn. Her old school - they never noticed her. My daughter's a quiet girl whod get brushed to the side. At KIPP, she is so happy! The school is about good character, not just test scores like a lot of other schools. This school is the kind of place our community needs!
